Heavy Rain Inundates 8 Points in E. Jakarta

Heavy rain that pours the capital city since yesterday, leaving inundation at eight points in East Jakarta, Friday (2/26). Those are spread in four sub-districts and seven urban villages.

Inundation happens in the basin and drain that is not functioning normally

Head of East Jakarta BPBD, Iwan Samosir disclosed, in Cakung Sub-district, inundation as high as 50 cm inundates Rt 18/07 Cakung Barat Urban Village, Rawa Terate Urban Village in RT 10/05 as high as 50-90 cm due to overflowing waters of Cakung Lama River. It also happens in Jatinegara Urban Village, precisely at PLN Complex RW 01 with water level between 10-20 cm and Jalan KRT Radjiman RW 06 with 10-20 cm.

"Inundation happens in the basin and drain that is not functioning normally. There's also because of the backfill soil like on Jalan KRT Radjiman," he told, Friday (2/26).

Puddles in North Jakarta Is Due to Tidal Wave

While in Makasasr Sub-district, similar condition is also spotted in Cipinang Melayu RT 04/04 as high as 40 cm due to overflowing waters of Sunter River.

While in Jatinegara Sub-district, it also occurs in Bidara Cina Urban Village RT 06/11 as high as 10-20 cm and in RW 03 Kampung Pulo, Kampung Melayu as high as 30-40 cm. It is due to overflowing waters of Ciliwung River.

Last is in Pulogadung Sub-district, another inundation found in Rawamangun Urban Village RT 03 and 05/RW 07, with water level between 30-40 cm.
